The Kubotan style Key chain has been referred to as “A Fistful of Dynamite”
As most martial arts realize, many everyday items can be utilized as a Self Defense tool. The Kubotan Key chain is one of a family of pocket sticks that lends itself to self defense. The generic term is SDKS (Self Defense Key Chain) Although the Kubotan looks like a nondescript key chain, there are many ways to use the Kubotan Key Chain for self-defense purposes. With some training and practice, you can use the KUBOTAN as a deterent and if the situation escalates, you can incorporate Blocks, strikes and pain compliance techniques. In the seventies, some police (LAPD) were trained to use a KUBOTAN for pain complience to allow woman and smaller men to manage unrulely suspects. If you are proficient in martial arts that emphaze grappling and joint locks, the KUBOTAN adds leverage for pain complience.
