The Kubotan Key chain has been referred to as “A Fistful of Dynamite”
As most martial arts realize, many everyday items can be utilized as a Self Defense tool. The Kubotan Key chain is one of a family of pocket sticks. There are many ways to use the Kubotan Key chain for self-defense.
You can use your keys as a flail.As things get serious, you can hold your Kubotan tightly in your fist with the ends projecting on both sides of your fist.
Strikes with the end by your thumb are called “Ridge Hand” strikes. You strike with circular hook like moves to face and neck. Strikes with the end by your little finger are called “Hammer Fist” Strikes. Just like hammering a nail, you strike down or to the sides to Bones or Bone joints, Elbows, knees etc) also strikes to soft tissue and nerves is extremely painful. If you are grabbed from behind, strikes to the attackers groin are real nasty. Accuracy is not important. Anywhere you strike will hurt and possibly break bone. Be careful, some strikes can be lethal, Temple, throat, solar plexus etc.
